Navigating to Adventure

Updated: Apr 18, 2021

Learning to navigate is your key to the mountains.

This week we've been out teaching young hill-walkers how to find their way around in the mountains. Teaching the skills that allow them to head out and stay safe, while they take the first independent steps toward bigger adventures.

We base our Introduction to Navigation course on the 5 'Ds': Direction, Distance, Duration, Destination and Description.

Learning these fundamental skills will give you a firm foundation from which to grow as a mountaineer.

Whether you aspire to be an Alpine climber or a Bridleway Rambler, knowing where you are and getting to where you want to be is essential.
