Take Your Rock Climbing to the Next Level
If you’d like to improve your movement technique, develop confidence and push your climbing grade, this course is for you. The focus of this course is on learning the skills required to competently follow a lead climber. You will get expert instruction and hands-on experience; placing and removing rock-protection, lead belaying, rope management, building climbing anchors, route selection and guidebook use. Our coaches will show you the essential skills you’ll need to continue your journey toward being a fully independent climber.
Is this for me?
This 2 Day course is aimed at people that have some climbing experience. Regular indoor climbers that want to take their skills outside and club climbers that want formal instruction. Anyone that wants to take their climbing to the next level.
What do I Need?
We provide all the technical equipment; Helmets, harnesses, ropes and climbing gear. If you own any of your own climbing gear then please bring it along. You will need to bring food and drink for the day and clothing suitable for the weather conditions; Warm clothes, water-poofs, hat and gloves. Maybe sunglasses and sunscreen if we're lucky.
Where do we go?
We will generally meet in Langdale valley, at the National Trust(NT) car park. This will be subject to local weather conditions, we’ll head to wherever is best on the day.
This 2 day course will take place at single-pitch valley crags, with a maximum of 4 clients. You will spend each day at a different location, climbing both single and multi-pitch routes. You will refresh skills such as belaying, receive technique and movement-coaching, learn to place/remove protection, rope management and many other skills that will increase your confidence and competence as a climber.
